Jea is not a name but an acronym.

They are a child of a northern country, born in a valley where it becomes bitterly cold in the winter, humid and warm in the short-lived summer. At the age of three, her little brother was born, and suddenly she needed more bedtime stories than her parents had the energy to provide.

So they taught their little child to fish.

She learned the words to her favourite stories in English, and in French, and then learned more. Anything she couldn’t have, couldn’t feel—she could imagine.

What a great and terrible power to give to a child.
