I drew this between classes at university, while sitting next to an enormous window that looked out into a courtyard ringed by brick buildings. I started idly with the tree, and then the strange little deer creature floated into the scene.
I intended to draw a butterfly next to the tree, but when I went to do it, I realized I had stumbled upon my art signature instead. My initials float onto every new piece I make, in the same way that the strange little deer floats its way over to the tree.
I’ve remained so fond of this magical little deer over the years, that when it came time to make the logo for this website, there was no hesitation: this was the natural, obvious choice.
