Thoughts. This song’s title is read as “question”, and much like DEAD SCHOOL SCREAMING which precedes it on the album, and kuuron-NINE HEADS RODEO SHOW- which follows it, Q. is a solid teen anthem. This song has a call-and-response built into it, sung by SHOU and Saga, making you imagine them having a heated exchange with a parent—or some other close relative. This song doesn’t necessarily have to be from the viewpoint of a teenager, though; it could certainly be between an adult and their parent or relative as well, a plea for understanding where there has yet been none. I also imagine some degree of unhealed trauma—platitudes that don’t work, advice that doesn’t fit. Given that I am queer, myself, I’ve also long thought these lyrics worked well when read through a queer lens as well.
