A simple painting inspired by the series Violet Evergarden. After war ends, a soldier is both always and no longer a soldier. Violet moves forward, while also continuously crash-landing back in the past.
Each successive colour element, from bottom to top, was added to mirror my feelings as I watched episodes one to seven.
The final tear-spatter was made with melted snow that I collected from my front porch.
